7 Video connector Connects a VGA display to the system. Note that this is not
used. Not for customer use.

9 Serial connector Connects a serial device to the system. Not for customer
use.

The DXi8500 system has four 1 GbE ports.
11 SAS connectors Connects to the Metadata modules.

The DXi8500 system has two optional 10 GbE ports.
13 System
identification
button
The identification buttons on the front and back panels can
be used to locate a particular system within a rack. When
one of these buttons is pushed, the LCD panel on the front
and the blue system status indicator on the back blink until
one of the buttons is pushed again.
14 System
identification
connector
Connects the optional system status indicator assembly
through the optional cable management arm.
