Shutting Down the DXi8500 System
To shut down the DXi8500 system, you must use the remote
management console (see
Reboot & Shutdown
on page 446). Shutting
down the system should take less than 5 minutes. Only the System Node
will completely shut down. The Array modules, Expansion modules,
Metadata module, Ethernet and Fibre Channel switches, and the power
strips will continue to be powered on.
Follow these steps to completely shut down all DXi8500 components,
after shutting down the system from the remote management console
and the System Node powers down:

Shut down the system using the
Reboot & Shutdown
page in the
remote management console (see
Reboot & Shutdown
on
page 446).
Caution:
Do not turn off any other components until the system
completely shuts down. The system is not completely
shut down until all LEDs on the back of the System
Node are off.
