Specific
Data Deduplication
The
Data Deduplication
license allows the DXi8500 to reduce the size of
data stored on the system through the deduplication process (see Data
Reduction on page 8). This option must be enabled before the data
duplication process can run. The deduplication option must also be
enabled before Replication can be configured.
Replication
The Replication license allows the DXi8500 to replicate data to up to
twenty target systems. This option must be enabled before you can
configure the DXi8500 system for replication. The deduplication option
must also be enabled before replication can be configured.
Storage Capacity
The
Storage Capacity
license is factory-installed for the installed
capacity. Additional capacity requires a certificate license that comes
with each Array module and Expansion module. This license allows the
storage capacity of the DXi8500 to be increased.
