screen,
followed by the login screen, after a short period. The upgrade should take about a
minute to complete.
In cases where multiple software files are provided as part of a software upgrade, the
server software upgrade process will need to be performed for all software files.
VERSION 3.0 Specific Instructions
When upgrading from version 2.x software to version 3.0, users will need to purchase
a V3.0 software license key. Once purchased, Monroe Electronics/Digital Alert Systems
will provide the user with a V3.0 Enabling Key, a link to download the V3.0 software,
and credentials to access the software download via e-mail. There will be two software
files that should be downloaded to a local host computer. Follow the Server Software
Upgrade instructions (above) to install these files.
Version 3.0 software introduces additional security features and a V3.0 Enabling Key.
Both are addressed when performing the initial V3.0 upgrade.
The first security feature addresses an updated password policy, which is designed to
make EAS devices more secure and less accessible to unauthorized logins:
• Users are no longer permitted to continue using the default password (
dasdec
)
after the initial login.
Caution
DO NOT power off the
EAS device during the
upgrade process. That
may cause significant
damage.
Attention
Version 3.0 can be
installed on any system
currently running
V2.0-2 or higher. If your
