For three seconds, there will be a message on the screen that says
Press any
key to boot from CD-ROM
. If you do not press any key, the installation will not
start and you will return to the Firmware Boot Manager.
Starting the installation CD manually
To start the installation manually, proceed as follows:
1. Insert the installation CD-ROM into the drive.
2. Enter the EFI shell from the EFI Firmware Boot Manager menu. Access the
CD-ROM drive as described in “File operations in the EFI shell” on page 97.
3. Run the SETUPLDR.EFI program. If the CD-ROM drive is mapped as fs2:
and fs3:, the command line looks similar to:
fs3:\> setupldr
Tip: With a bootable CD, there will be two file system entries, typically fs2: and
fs3:. The first of the two entries will contain all the program files, such as I386,
and the second will contain the boot loader files.
