Remote Supervisor Adapter firmware update
To update the Remote Supervisor Adapter (RSA), use the IBM Remote
Supervisor Adapter utility. This allows you to do the following:
Update the Remote Supervisor Adapter.
Configure the Remote Supervisor Adapter.
Update the RXE-100 Expansion Enclosure.
The utility is not a default part of EFI configuration, it may be located on the
media shipped with the server but it is always better to check for the latest
version that can be downloaded from the x455 driver page:

Unlike the Flash Update utility, which requires update files to be in the root
directory of an available file system, the Remote Supervisor Adapter update files
can reside in any directory on an accessible file system, but the update program
(FLASH2.EFI) and data files must reside in the same directory.
The following files are required to be in the same directory to successfully update
the Remote Supervisor Adapter and RXE-100:
FLASH2.EFI Flash update executable
CNETBRUS.PKT System Management Adapter Boot ROM
CNETMNUS.PKT System Management Adapter Main Application
CNETRGUS.PKT Remote Graphics Application
DMCFLASH.PKT Integrated System Management Processor Application
IIOEFLSH.PKT RXE-100 Remote Expansion Enclosure Application
IIOEFLPB.PKT RXE-100 Power Backplane Application
To apply the Remote Supervisor Adapter (and RXE-100) updates, follow these
steps:
1. Enter the EFI shell from the EFI Frimware Boot Manager menu.
2. Navigate to the folder that contains FLASH2.EFI and the update files.
3. At the EFI shell command line, type
flash2
and press Enter. The main
window is displayed.
Tip: Attach the RXE-100 before starting the Remote Supervisor Adapter
firmware update so it will be updated at the same time.
