Chapter 5 Extension Management
You need to register third parties’ SIP phones to InterPBX System so that they
can communicate with other extensions in the system via SIP Proxy or access
SIP Trunks for making calls.
Depending the manufacturer of SIP phones, the required settings might be
different. For more details, please refer to the related operation manual of your
SIP phones. The basic settings are as follows.
IP Address, Subnet, Gateway or DHCP: The basic network settings of
your SIP phones.
Display Name: The name of the SIP phone. Notice that during
conversation, only the SIP phone extension number will be displayed
other extensions.

SIP phone.
Domain, Registrar and Proxy: The IP address of SIP Proxy.
Making Calls from SIP Phones and Applicable SIP Phone Features
When adopting third parties SIP phones, some features on the InterPBX System
might not apply to those SIP phones. The dialing procedure will be a little bit
different from that on DSG IP phones.
Making internal calls: Press the extension number and press # key.
Retrieving voice messages: Press * + * + # key. Notice that the CODEC
supported by Voice Messaging System is G.711. If your SIP phone does
not support it, you will not be able to listen to your voice messages.
Conference: SIP phones can be invited to join conferences. If your SIP
phone supports conference function, it might be able to initiate a
conference call.
Transfer, redial and others: Depends on the specification provided by
your SIP phone.
Extension Group: Not supported.
Paging: Not supported.
