Chapter 5 Extension Management
External Notification
1. Click the “Enabled External Notification” for message notification or
“Urgent Messages Only” to notify users for only messages marked
“urgent”. The urgent messages will always be delivered even when
External Notification is disabled.
2. Set “Notification Schedule” to deliver notification during business hour or
personal hours to avoid interruptions.
3. Set external notification target from sequence 1. Select Phone or Pager from
“Type” list or select “Disabled” to void.
4. Enter the target phone or pager number at “Phone/Pager Number” for
message notification.
5. Set the Notification Interval that allows the system to notify users for new
messages after a specific amount of time.
6. The system will notify users of new messages according to the “Try” cycle.
After the system reaches the number of “Try” cycle or the owner of the
voice mailbox save the messages as old or delete them after retrieving
messages, the system will stop the notification.
The system will deliver notification from sequence 1 to 5. When the system
attempts to call the phone set in sequence 1 and it is busy or no answer, the
system will retry after the interval until reaching the “Try” cycle. In case the
system fails to deliver notification to sequence 1, it alternates to sequence 2 and
repeat the procedures as above. Please note that when the target phone number
has been assigned its call forward, the notification will be redirected
accordingly.
NOTE:
External Notification will perform according to Class of Service. Please
refer to Chapter 6 Group Management/Class of Service for more details about
Class of Service.
Unified Messaging
InterPBX can forward new voice messages with WAVE file attachment to user’s
email address.
1. Click “Enable UMS”
2. Select “Keep as new” or “Save as old” after messages are forwarded to
e-mail.
3. Input the e-mail address in “E-mail”. You can input up to 3 e-mail
addresses.
