TRACK FRAME AND PIVOT SHAFT
c. First, slide the ring 1.547.0397 of pivot shaft seal tool (A) on the shaft and then slide the
sleeve 1.547.0358. Press seal (11) with its seal shield (3) onto pivot shaft (5) in such
a way that the tool (A) sleeve thrust face contacted the shaft face, as shown in Fig. 14.42.
Check this position by tool hole. Take off the tool. Once the seal (11) took its position its
distance (C) to the shaft face is to be equal to 488.5
±
0.8 [mm].
4. Coat O-ring (12) with HIPOL 85W/140 oil or equivalent (refer to OPERATOR’S MANUAL) and
insert into seal shield (3) groove.
5. If bushing (9 and 10) were removed, apply LOCTITE Primer T or N on outside surface
of bushings and allow to dry completely. Be sure bore of track frame is clean and dry. Coat
35 [mm] of outer edge of track frame bore and leading edge of bushing with LOCTITE #609.
Press bushings into track frame until each are flush with outside edges of track frame.
NOTE: Bushings must be pressed in within five minutes after applying Loctite #609.
6. Assemble the track rollers to the track frame. Refer to TRACK ROLLER in this Section.
7. Install the front top idler mounting bracket (22, Fig. 14.1) with the guide mounting face flush
with the post on the track frame (1). Install rear top idler mounting bracket (21).
8. Attach a hoist to the track frame (1) and keeping it horizontal, position it over pivot shaft (5).
9. Install track frame guide plate with same thickness shims were removed,
10. With the track frame in horizontal position secure snap ring (4) with seal shield (14) to the track
frame (1). Torque bolts with washers to 108 [Nm].
11. Install inner wear washer (7) to the track frame. Position shim pack (8) on end of pivot shaft (5)
and secure the retaining plate (6). Remove or add enough shims (8) to align the center line of
the last track roller with the center line of the sprocket, refer to TRACK FRAME ALIGNMENT in
this Section. Install plate (6) and torque bolts to 845 [Nm].
12. Install outer wear washer (7) in track frame (1). Install cover (2) with O-ring (13) and torque
bolts to 845 [Nm].
13. Remove hoist from track frame. Remove blocking from machine and lower machine onto track
chain.
14. Install guide plate to main frame with same thickness shims were removed, refer to TRACK
FRAME GUIDE in this Section. Torque bolts to 1500 [Nm].
15. Install equalizer bar, refer to EQUALIZER BAR in this Section. Remove blocks from equalizer
bar tunnel on each side of machine.
16. Refill the pivot shaft housing as described in the OPERATOR’S MANUAL. Install O-ring (16) in
groove of oil level dipstick (15). Install dipstick (15) to pivot shaft housing.
17. Install front idler assembly, refer to FRONT IDLER in this Section.
18. Whenever a new track frame or guide plates are installed, track frame alignment must be
checked, refer to TRACK FRAME ALIGNMENT in this Section.
19. Install inner and outer sprocket rock deflectors to rear of track frame and track chain, refer to
TRACK CHAIN in SECTION 15.
20. Machines with “TILT” only (connection at RH side), and with “TILT/PITCH” (connection at both
sides). Using flanges (3, Fig. 14.38) and O-rings (2) reconnect hoses (4) to the trunnion (1).
Install trunnion (1) to track frame (1, Fig. 14.41) and torque the bolts to 845 [Nm]. Install
cover (14) and secure it.
21. Install blade with push arm, refer to SECTION 17.
