Transmission Housing and Cover (Refer to Fig. 7C.7)
72. Position cover (4) on a stand as shown in Fig. 7C.39. Attach a hoist to the eyebolt 5/8”-13 UNC
range clutch assy (19) and lower the shaft on cover (4). Do not set the shaft all the way down.
73. Install shafts (5 and 12) on cover (4) as shown in Fig. 7C.39 and lower shaft (19) all the way
down. Remove the hoist and eyebolt.
74. Position baffle (26) on cover (4) and secure with the five bolts and washers. Torque the bolts
with washers to 38 [Nm]. To secure one of the bolts a long extension with a swivel adapter can
be inserted in the baffle opening as shown in Fig. 7C.40.

75. Insert tubes (2) through the openings in housing (1).
76. Apply LOCTITE #515 to the mating surfaces of cover (4) and housing (1) according to the
instructions on the container. Hoist the housing (1) as shown in Fig. 7C.41 and lower it over
the shafts, guiding the ends of shafts into their proper bearing cups. Install mounting bolts and
washers securing housing (1) to cover (4). Torque the bolts with washer to 92 [Nm].
77. Secure baffle (26) to housing (1) with four bolts and washers previously removed as shown in
Fig. 7C.42. Torque the bolts with washer to 38 [Nm].
78. Install sump pipe (23) with gasket (24) and O-ring (25). Secure with two bolts.
