25. Install the high range clutch piston (49) in clutch plate retainer (56) the same way as for

removal (refer to Fig. 7E.23). Use eyebolts 3/8”-16UNC.

NOTE: When a need to replace separator plates for high range and brakes clutches arises check
their thickness. Separate the plates to get to sets: one grouping the plates smaller in thickness and
the other composed of remaining plates. Use the plates smaller in thickness and the plates bigger
in thickness to serve the brake clutches and high range clutches, respectively.

NOTE:

Thoroughly oil all of the internally splined friction discs with same oil as used in the main

frame prior to assembling in the retainer.

26. Install spacers (A, Fig. 7E.24) in holes of clutch plates (21). Alternately install one internally

splined friction disc (20) and one externally splined clutch plate (21) in clutch plate retainer
(56). Start from friction disc (20). While installing externally splined clutch plate (21) note that
every other plate is to be displaced 60 [º] in relation to the proceeding plate so that tabs of two
successive externally splined plates form an entire circumference. Install ring gear adapter (48)
and ring gear (47) on clutch plate retainer (56) and torque the bolts to 54 [Nm].
