4. Install square cut sealing ring (5) into outlet cover (2). Install O-ring (4) and back up ring (3)
onto cartridge kit ( B , Fig. 10A.11) outlet support plate (7) hub. Carefully install cartridge kit ( B )
over shaft and into inlet housing and turn slightly to bring into alignment pin holes and cartridge
alignment pins (Fig. 10A.27). Install O-ring (6) into outlet cover. Making sure square cut sealing
ring is in place within cover, orient cover with scribe marks and gently slide cover over
cartridge. Be careful not to cut seals or pinch O-rings during cover installation. Install mounting
bolts (1, Fig. 10A.10) and torque to 95 ± 5 [Nm]. Turn pump shaft by hand to verify freedom of
cartridge.
5. Position dowel pins (47) into rear cover (2). Liberally coat O-ring (49) with petroleum jelly and
install into rear cover. Position wear plate (48) with O-ring (44) groove side up and coat with
clean oil. Position rotor (41) with vanes (42) on plate and place rotor ring (43) over rotor
aligning scribe marks. Position sub assembly over dowels aligning rotor with shaft, dowel pins
with holes and scribe marks. Apply a liberal coat of clean oil to rotor and vanes and verify rotor
and vane freedom of movement. Install pressure plate (46) with spring (45) on shaft. Install
end cover (39) with O-ring (40), aligning scribe marks, and secure with mounting bolts (38).
Torque to 54 ± 7 [Nm].
10. INSTALLATION (Refer to Fig. 10A.28)
IMPORTANT: All gaskets and any collapsed hoses or damaged connections must be replaced
with new. Whenever a sealing ring is required at a disconnected line, it is recommended that
a new sealing ring be installed.
1. Remove the covering from the torque converter housing. Thoroughly clean the mating surfaces
of the torque converter housing and the equipment pump housing.
2. Install the hydraulic block (4) to the pump and secure with four bolts.
3. Install a new O-ring on the equipment pump housing flange.
