TRACK FRAME AND PIVOT SHAFT
1. Remove blade with push arm, refer to SECTION 17.
2. Machines with “TILT” only (connection at RH side), and with “TILT/PITCH” (connection at both
sides). Unscrew bolts and pull the trunnion (1, Fig. 14.38) out with hoses (4). Unscrew the
separate flanges (3) that secure hydraulic hoses (4) to the trunnion (1). Remove O-rings (2)
and discard them. Remove cover (14, Fig. 14.41) from the track frame (1), pull the hoses
(4, Fig. 14.38) out of the frame and tie them up out of the way.
3. Remove track chain, refer to SECTION 15. It is necessary to remove tracks from under
machine.
4. Remove front idler assembly, refer to FRONT IDLER in this Section.
5. Remove inner and outer sprocket rock deflectors from rear of track frame.
6. Install blocks in equalizer bar tunnel on each side of machine to prevent movement of
equalizer bar. Remove equalizer bar elastic suspension, refer to EQUALIZER BAR in this
Section.
NOTE: Whenever possible, an adjusting sling should be used to remove track frame.
With an adjusting sling, track frame can be tilted or leveled as required, reducing job time,
effort and hazard.

7. Remove guide plate and shims from main frame, refer to TRACK FRAME GUIDE in this
Section. Keep shims with guide plate for proper installation.
8. Jack front and rear of machine up and block it securely. Machine should be raised high
enough for track rollers and shields to clear chain. Attach a hoist to two track idlers as shown
in Fig. 14.39. Lift track frame load off pivot shaft and track chain.
