40. Place the shaft in a suitable stand so that the single clutch pack is up.
41. Remove seal rings (50) and retaining ring (2) from the shaft (1). Remove retaining ring (28)
and retaining ring (45).
42. Remove first gear hub (44) with bearing cone (49) as shown in Fig. 7C.27. Remove seal ring
(42) and O-ring (43) from hub (44). Do not remove bearing cone (49) unless replacement is
necessary.
NOTE: Bearing cup (49) was removed with housing (1, Fig. 7C.7). If bearing replacement is
necessary, remove bearing cup from the housing.
43. Remove O-ring (47) from output shaft (1) and remove retaining ring (28) from drum (46).
44. Compress springs (12) by pressing down on piston (41) with C clamps as shown in Fig. 7C.28
and remove retaining ring (2).

45. Remove parts (41, 14, 13, 16, 33, 34, 28, 35 and 46) as an assembly by lifting drum (46) off
the output shaft (1). Set the assembly on a bench and disassemble component parts (41, 14,
13, 16, 33, 34, 28, 35 and 46) in the sequence indicated.
46. Disassemble component parts (12, 9, 8, 40, 39, 3, 4, 3, 38, 5, 3, 4, 3, 25, 5, 3, 4, 3 and 26) in
the sequence indicated.
47. Remove retaining ring (28) as shown in Fig. 7C.29.
48. Disassemble component parts (35, 31 and 32) in reference number sequence.
49. Compress springs (11) by pressing down on plate (37) with C clamps as shown in Fig. 7C.30
and remove retaining ring (27).
50. Remove plate (37) and springs (11) from the output shaft (1).
51. Lay the shaft on its side and remove piston (22) from the output shaft assembly.
