BULLDOZER BLADE
5. Insert the ball of diagonal strut (1, Fig. 17.6) to blade socket (4) and connect the diagonal strut
cap (2) to the socket with the bolts (6) and washers. Be sure to tighten the bolts (6) with
washers evenly. Determine the number of shims (5) needed to fill the gap between cap (2) and
socket (4), then add one additional shim to provide clearance. Each shim is 0.75 [mm] thick.
Remove the bolts (6) with washers and add the amount of shims required. Install the bolts (6)
with washers and torque to 1050 [Nm]. Repeat this procedure on the opposite diagonal strut.
6. Disconnect the lift cylinder hangers from the radiator guard and hydraulically extend the
cylinder rods until the eyes line up with the lift cylinder brackets (10, Fig. 17.2) on the rear of
the blade (7). Insert the lift cylinder mounting pins through the brackets (10), aligning the lock
hole in the pins with the lock holes brackets. Secure the pins with the locking hardware.
7. Remove the blocks from under diagonal struts.
Blade w/Push Arms
1. Drive the machine between the push arms (23 and 28, Fig. 17.1).
2. Position trunnion cap (2, Fig. 17.5) over the trunnion and connect it to push arm (6) with the
two bolts and nuts. Be sure to tighten the bolts evenly. Determine the number of shims (7)
needed to fill the gap between cap (2) and push arm (6), than add one additional shim to
provide clearance. Remove the bolts, add the number of shims (7) required and install and
torque the bolts to 2100 [Nm]. Repeat this procedure on the opposite side of machine. It may
be necessary to adjust the diagonal struts to move the push arms either in or out before
attaching them to the trunnions.
3. Machine with Blade Tilt: Connect the hoses (4 and 5, Fig. 17.5) to right trunnion (1).
4. Machine with Blade Tilt/pitch: Connect hoses (4 and 5, Fig. 17.5) to right and left
trunnions (1).
5. Install the cover (1, Fig. 17.4) to the push arm (3) and secure with bolts (2). Repeat this step on
the opposite side of the machine.
6. Disconnect the lift cylinder hangers from the radiator guard and hydraulically extend the
cylinder rods until the eyes line up with the lift cylinder brackets (10, Fig. 17.2) on the rear of
the blade (7). Insert the lift cylinder mounting pins through the brackets (10), aligning the lock
hole in the pins with the lock holes in the bracket. Secure the pins with the locking hardware.
7. Remove the blocks from under push arms.
BULLDOZER PUSH ARMS
4. REMOVAL
WARNING! Before working at the machine, be sure that the blade and ripper have
been lowered to the ground, engine is OFF, the drive train neutral lock lever is in
locked (ON) position and parking brake is set. The starting switch and the
electrical system master switch are turned OFF, keys are removed and the
controls are tagged to prevent inadvertent engine starting.
WARNING! Due to the considerable weight and bulk of each bulldozer
component, a suitable hoist or lifting device MUST be used. Remove each
component separately using suitable blocking on the remaining components.
