TD-25M EXTRA

FINAL DRIVE ASSEMBLY

1. Set final drive assembly down on housing (35) so that gear (13) is up.

2. Rotate bull gear (13) so retaining ring (14) hooks are showing. Through hole in gear remove

ring up out of its groove.

3. Remove bolts and washers securing housing (7) to cover (17). Attach a hoist to bull gear hub

(Fig. 7F.9) and lift slowly until gear (13) contacts housing (7). Install two mounting bolts (11A,
Fig. 7F.16) of cover (11) as the jack screws in holes provided in housing (7) and free housing
from cover (17). Remove housing (7).

NOTE: If disassembly of pinion gear assembly is necessary, refer to PINION GEAR in this Section.

4. Lift drive gear assembly (13, 14, 16, 12 and 15) from shaft (33). Remove retaining rings

(12 and 16), bearing (15) and retaining ring (14) from gear (13). It is impossible to remove
bearing (15) without damaging it.

5. Turn assembly over and support it on cover (17). Remove bolts securing housing (35)

to hub (22). Remove protective corks (26) from three puller holes and install puller bolts
5/8”-11UNC-2B. Loose housing from hub and remove puller bolts. Install lifting eyebolts
5/8”-11UNC-2B (Fig. 7F.10) in puller holes, attach a hoist and remove housing.
