Be sure is done in a clean area. Clean unit thoroughly with a solvent. Remove all sharp edges from
splins, drill points, key ways and end of shaft. Match mark sections to ensure correct reassembly.
To aid you in disassembly and reassembly, pump should be retained in some manner. We
recommend use of a steel plate bolted to and extending over edge of a work bench. Plate should
have a hole large enough for adapter flange pilot to drop through, and two holes matching location
of mounting holes in adapter flange. Pump can now be firmly fixed to plate by bolts. This is
especially helpful in removal and torquing of bolts.
1. Position pump, shaft end down, into a suitable stand (Fig. 10A.8). Match mark end cover (39)
to rear cover (2), rear cover (2) to inlet housing (17) and inlet housing (17) to outlet
housing (37).
CAUTION! Spring loaded assembly. Assembly must be held to relieve spring
pressure. Use extreme care when disassembling.
2. Remove two mounting bolts (38) across from each other. Slowly remove remaining bolts until
tension is off spring (45) then remove bolts. Remove end cover (39) with O-ring (40). Lift wear
plate (48) with rotor ring (43), rotor (41) and pressure plate (46) off of pump and separate
parts (Fig. 10A.9). Remove dowel pins (47) from rear cover (2). Discard three O-rings
(40, 44 and 49).
