OUTER PRESERVATION
OF POWER UNIT
1
On the engine, which has not internal preservation, it is al-
lowable to oil the wooden blank covers with working-preservation oil.
Close all holes and openings with transport blank covers and plugs.
2
Remove an outside cover of the clutch hatch, install the
blank cover and put a cover of the hatch on a place.
3
Wipe outside surfaces of the engine, clutch, gearbox with
clean rags, soaked in white spirit, until complete removal of dirt and
oil, and then wipe to dry. It is allowed washing of the power unit with
subsequent air-blast.
4
All threaded holes of the engine and gearbox, threaded holes
and terminals of starter, generator, tachometer gauge grease with work-
ing-preservation oil or PVK or ZES greasing.
5
Paint the power unit, then completely equipped it.
6
Grease with a mixture of working-preservation oil with
PVK or ZES greasing:
•
the gearbox output shaft flange, clutch release fork shaft and
auxiliary drive hub, after that put the preventive cases on the
said parts;
•
grease the outer surfaces of the flywheel (for the engines
without the clutch and gearbox), after that close with packing
paper and tie with twine or use adhesive tape;
•
the flywheel housing mating surfaces (for the engines with-
out the clutch and gearbox), after that close with water proof
paper and tie with twine;
•
the flywheel housing mating surfaces, fit journals of front
portion of the crankshaft and fan drive, close with water proof
paper and tie with twine for the engines without the gearbox,
crankshaft pulley and fan.
7
Wrap the generator, front portion of the crankshaft with par-
affined paper and tie with twine.
8
Glue up with adhesive polyethylene tape the holes, closed
with preventive plugs and transport blankets
9
Prevent from preservation the generator, fan blades, inner
and outer surfaces of the clutch, and also the rubber parts and hoses. In
the cases of getting the oil on the said parts carefully wipe them.
