The throughput of pipeline determine for one high-pressure sec-
tion, with one injector and on one foam-suppressor of the stand.
Check the adjusted high-pressure fuel injection pump of air
tightness:
1. The drainage cavity, for what join tightly to oil outlet hole the
pipe with inside volume not more than 50 cm
3
(inner diameter not
more than 8 mm). Dip the free pipe end in the container with oil on
depth not more than 50 mm. Blank tightly the tapered hole of the gov-
ernor cover hatch and the oil inlet hole. Supply the compressed air un-
der pressure 0,05-0,07 MPa (0,5-0,7 kgf/cm
2
) to the drainage cavity
hole.
The high-pressure fuel injection pump is considered as suitable
if during 20 seconds the allocation of air bulbs in a container with fuel
is not observed.
2. The fuel injection pump joints. The test is carried out on spe-
cial stand equipped with the injectors and the high-pressure pipelines
complete set. The working liquid is the same as at test of pump.
Adjust the injector springs on injection beginning pressure of
21,0-21,8 MPa (210-218 kgf/cm
2
). The pump outside surfaces should
be dry. The test mode – nominal, the governor control lever should be
rest against the maximal speed limiting bolt.
The fuel pressure in the pump rail should be 0,05-0,10 MPa
(0,5-1,0 kgf/cm
2
), the fuel temperature – 50-60
°
C. The duration of test
– 45 minutes. The fuel leakages through the pump seals and joints are
not allowed.
3. The tightness of the fuel pipelines. For that blank the by-pass
valve hole and fuel pump unions. Connect the stand pipe to the fuel
inlet hole, remove the fuel pump cover and gradually increase the fuel
pressure in the pump rail up to 2 MPa (20 kgf/cm
2
). During 15 sec. the
leakages in any places and through the housing walls are not allowed.
At the inspection of the high-pressure fuel injection pump check:
−
the geometrical fuel delivery beginning by the pump sections;
−
the amount and uniformity of fuel delivery by the pump
sections.
The geometrical beginning of fuel delivery by the pump section is
determined on the moment of the termination of the expiration of fuel
from the pump unions, at rated delivery rack position, i.e., at position,
at which the rack lugging from an end face of the pump is 19
±
1 mm.
The beginning of fuel delivery by the first section of the pump
should corresponds to the tappet rise 4,5
±
0,05 mm from it extreme low
