Before installing the piston complete with the connecting rod
and rings into the cylinder liner, firstly compress the rings, sinking
them into the piston grooves. To compress the rings use a mandrel (fig.
88) with a taper inside surface and a shoulder, which allows the man-
drel to be accurately aligned on cylinder liner. Having inserted the pis-
ton into the mandrel fit it into the cylinder liner.
When assembling the piston with the connecting rod and install-
ing them into the engine, take care to observe the following require-
ments:
1 The piston and cylinder liner should belong to one and same
dimmension group.
