necessary, brush holder. On replacing of brushes check the
slip rings, if necessary turn them. Remember that the mini-
mum permissible slip ring diameter upon turning is
29,3 mm.
4 If necessary, disassemble the generator. Do that only in spe-
cial workshop having necessary tools and measuring de-
vices.
5 Carefully inspect the ball bearings, and replace them if de-
fective.
6 Assemble the generator.
7 Check the generator electrical parameters.
DISASSEMBLY AND ASSEMBLY
OF GENERATOR UNIT
Remove generating installation from the engine, clean of a dust
and dirt and disassemble in the following order:
1 Disconnect wires from the "O" and "+"generator plugs.
2 Unscrew two screws of the brush holder fastening to the
cover and take out the brush holder with integral voltage
regulator as the unit.
3 Unscrew two screws of brush holder and voltage regulator
fastening to the casing.
4 Unscrew three fastening screws of bearing cover.
5 Unscrew four tie screws and remove the cover from side of
contact rings together with stator (if necessary use a puller).
6 Unscrew the fastening nuts of rectifier unit phase plugs;
separate the stator from the cover.
7 Unscrew the pulley-fastening nut and remove the pulley and
fan. Extract the key and remove the thrust bushing.
8 Remove drive side cover from the shaft with the help the
puller using the threaded holes in the cover.
9 To separate the rectifier unit from the cover unscrew the
positive terminal nut and three screws of fastening of the
unit to the cover.
Assembly of the generator make in the order, opposite to disas-
sembly.
