5-4. DIAG Mode

CH06-Capstan Motor Check

Function:

Checks the functions of the capstan.

Operation:

(1) Without loading any cassette, enter “CH06

”. The capstan operation check mode is entered and the

following will be displayed.

By entering the H, J, K, L or “ ; ” key, the capstan motor will operate at the speed listed below.
H:

Capstan reverse maximum speed

Reverse x1 speed

Forward x1 speed

Capstan forward maximum speed

“ ; ”:

Stop

“ : ”:

Exits the capstan operation check mode.

(2) Check the following.

Check that when the J key is pressed, the capstan runs in the reverse direction at constant speed.

Check that when the K key is pressed, the capstan runs in the forward direction at constant speed.

(3) To end the check, enter “ : ”.

When the above fail:

Check the capstan motor drive circuit (SV-205 board).

Check the capstan FG output.

Check the capstan motor FG amplifier circuit.
