5-4. DIAG Mode

c. R1-TAPE TOP/END Sensor and Dew Sensor Check
Function:

Displays the states of the tape top sensor, tape end sensor and dew sensor.

Refer to the next page on the position of each sensor.

Operation:

(1) Without loading any cassette, enter “R1

”. The following will be displayed.

The following indicates the current status of the respective sensors.
When the sensor is functioning, the display changes from “

” to “

”.

[Ttop-]:

Tape Top sensor

[TEnd-]:

Tape End sensor

[Dew-]:

Dew sensor

[Unth-]:

Unthread End sensor

[Thre-]:

Thread End sensor

[SftL-]:

Reel L Position sensor

[SftS-]:

Reel S Position sensor

(2) Check the following.

When a screwdriver is moved near only the tape top sensor, the display changes from “[Ttop-]” to

“[TTop

]”.

When a screwdriver is moved near only the tape end sensor, the display changes from “[TEnd-]” to

“[TEnd

]”.

Using a cotton swab moistened with water, touch the dew sensor gently. After 10 seconds, the

display changes from “[Dew-]” to “[Dew

]”.

After checking, wipe the dew sensor completely dry of water.

After wiping completely, turn on the power again.

If the above fails:

Check the sensor.

Check the sensor harness.

Check the sensor input port of the CPU on the SV-205 board.
