1. Removing the CL Guide Rail

Remove the CL guide rail.
(Refer to step 5 in Section 3-20.)

2. Disconnecting the Harness

Disconnect a the Harness on the CTL/TC head
assembly.

3. Removing the CONFI Head Assembly

Remove the CONFI head assembly.
Refer to step 3 in Section 3-7.

4. Removing the CONFI Head

Positioning Plate

(1) Remove the compression coil spring.

(2) Remove the screw to remove the CONFI

head positioning plate and CONFI head

bracket.

5. Removing the CTL/TC Head Assembly

Remove the screw, then remove the CTL/TC

head assembly from the MD base assembly.

Be careful not to touch the drum (especially
rotary heads). Also, take care not to damage the

peripheral tape guides.

Remove the CTL/TC Head Assembly
