Values from -120
% to +600
% are available. Larger values are useful for small scales,
such as a power range of 10
dB or 20
dB, and low signal levels, for example 60
dB
below the reference level. In this case, large reference level position values allow you
to see the trace again.
For spectrograms, this value defines the position of the reference level value within the
span covered by the color map. In this case, the value is given in %, where 0
% corre-
sponds to the maximum (right end) and 100
% to the minimum (left end) of the color
map.
Remote command:
DISPlay[:WINDow<n>]:TRACe<t>:Y[:SCALe]:RPOSition
Auto Scale Once
Automatically determines the optimal range and reference level position to be dis-
played for the current measurement settings.
The display is only set once; it is not adapted further if the measurement settings are
changed again.
Remote command:
DISPlay[:WINDow<n>]:TRACe<t>:Y[:SCALe]:AUTO ONCE
Scaling
Defines the scaling method for the y-axis.
For more information, see
"Logarithmic"
Logarithmic scaling (only available for logarithmic units - dB..., and A,
V, Watt)
"Linear with
Unit"
Linear scaling in the unit of the measured signal
"Linear Per-
cent"
Linear scaling in percentages from 0 to 100
"Absolute"
The labeling of the level lines refers to the absolute value of the refer-
ence level (not available for "Linear Percent")
"Relative"
The scaling is in dB, relative to the reference level (only available for
logarithmic units - dB...). The upper line of the grid (reference level) is
always at 0 dB.
Remote command:
DISPlay[:WINDow<n>][:SUBWindow<w>]:TRACe<t>:Y:SPACing
DISPlay[:WINDow<n>][:SUBWindow<w>]:TRACe<t>:Y[:SCALe]:MODE

How to Optimize the Amplitude Display
This section gives you some advice on how to optimize the display of the measured
signal amplitudes depending on the required evaluation.
1. Perform a measurement with the default settings to get an impression of the values
to be expected.
