Joystick
The MM4006 lets you use a joystick to manually manipulate axes remotely.
The MM4006 joystick has f o u r buttons: M O T. ON, M O T. OFF, ()RIG, MANU.,
three slide switches PX, PY, PXY, t w o LEDs L I , L 2 and a two-dimensional
potentiometer PO. T h e joystick is connected t o t h e MM4006 via t h e 15-pin
D-Sub r e m o t e c o n t r o l o u t p u t ( t h e j o y s t i c k c o n n e c t o r replaces t h e 15-pin
D-Sub short circuit connector on the rear panel of the MM4006).

potentiometer to manipulate one o r two axes simultaneously.
The further the potentiometer is moved from its center the more
rapidly the axis/axes move.
PX S l i d e switch to reverse the X axis direction.
PY S l i d e switch to reverse the Y axis direction.
PXY S l i d e switch to exchange the X and Y axes directions.
HOME
B u t t o n to start an origin search cycle.
JOG
B u t t o n to select two axes that will be linked to the action of the joy-
stick.
• I n i t i a l state: N o axis is chosen (LEDs
LI, L2, L3
and
L4
are off).
If the button is pressed, the joystick goes to state 1.
• S t a t e 1: A x e s 1 and 2 are chosen (LED
LI
is on).
If the button is pressed again, the joystick goes to
state 2.
• S t a t e 2: A x e s 3 and 4 are chosen (LED
L2
is on).
If the button is pressed again, the joystick goes t o
state 3.
• S t a t e 3: A x e s 5 and 6 are chosen (LED L3 is on).
If the button is pressed again, the joystick goes to
state 4.
• S t a t e 4: A x e s 7 and 8 are chosen (LED
L4
is on).
If the button is pressed, the joystick returns to the
initial state (the LEDs are off).
