Configuring Objective and Camera Options

Tip: As you configure an acquisition protocol, you can open the Summary panel to view
the current values for the protocol settings. See

Viewing the Summary Panel on page

123

To define objective and camera settings for a protocol:

1. Select the Objective and Camera tab.

2. Click the Magnification drop-down and select the setting of the objective to use for the

protocol.

Note: If your system includes the Water Immersion option, when you select a water
immersion objective the WI Status icon displays. When you switch from a water
immersion objective to an air objective, the system drains the water and opens the
instrument top door so that you can dry the bottom of the plate before using the air
objective.

CAUTION! If you do not dry the plate bottom, you run the risk of getting water on
the air objective and potentially into the instrument.

3. In the Camera Binning field, enter the value to apply to the camera.

Note: The resulting pixel size (image calibration) updates based on the
magnification and binning settings.

4. Click the Acquisition Mode drop-down and select the acquisition mode to use (dependent

on the instrument configuration).

5. When you finish configuring the acquisition protocol, continue to
