Objective Maintenance

If you replace or add to the optical components in the factory-standard ImageXpress Confocal
HT.ai system, you must physically change or add the component and then enter the changes in
the software to reflect the new hardware configuration.

CAUTION! A Molecular Devices Field Service Engineer must install and remove water
immersion objectives. The Water Immersion option supports up to two water immersion
objectives and they must be installed in the first and/or fourth objective slots. If you use
water immersion objectives, see

Water Immersion Option on page 179

.

You can clean an objective that is installed in the instrument or remove the objective from the
instrument for cleaning. See

Cleaning Objectives on page 211

.

If you use oil-immersion objectives, see

Using Oil-Immersion Objectives on page 212

.

You can identify the magnification of an objective by the color band:
