Understanding Status Lights

The status light on the ImageXpress Confocal HT.ai instrument provides information on the
instrument status. You can turn off the status lights. See

Turning Off the Status Indicator Lights

on page 236

Color

Instrument Status

Orange

The instrument is powered on without software control.

Blue

The instrument is powered on with software control and is ready to use.

Green

The instrument is acquiring data.

Red

The instrument is in an error state or cannot communicate with the software.

Table 2-2: Status Light Colors

The POWER/STATUS indicator on the external light source provides information on the light
source status.

Color

External Light Source Status

Yellow

The light source is powered on, but not ready for operation.

Red

The light source has a fault (for example, an interlock has been triggered or the
master key switch is in the OFF position).

Green

The light source powered on without software control.

Note: The status indicator remains in this state until the first use of the
external light source (for example, acquiring an image or showing a live
preview), when it begins to flash green and blue.

Green/Blue
(flashing)

The light source is operating with software control.

White (or any
other color)

The light source is in an error state. Contact Molecular Devices Technical Support.
