Illumination System: Excitation
The ImageXpress Confocal HT.ai system is equipped with an external light source connected
to the instrument with a light guide.
External Light Source
The external light source is a Class 4 high-power laser product with a rated lifetime of 20,000
hours. There are no user-replaceable parts in the solid-state light source.

Illumination Optics
The output end of the fiber optic light guide is imaged onto the sample by a set of internal
optics and the objective to provide bright and uniform illumination of the specimen over a
wide field of view.
