whether the coverage meets the requirements.
When necessary, adjust the AP location or add APs to ensure the coverage effect.
Do as follows:
1. Set the monitor to access the CMS.
2. Run the
ping –t –l 32 –w 1500 IP address
in the CLI window of the CMS to ping the
monitor continuously (The packet consists of 32 bytes, and the reply timeout
duration is 1500 milliseconds). Ten minutes later, Enter
ctrl + c
to end the ping. Make
sure that the average delay is less than 250 milliseconds, and the packet loss rate is
less than 1%.
3. Hold the monitor lest it would be blocked by others. Walk about in the expected
coverage areas (such as all corners of wards, toilets, smoking areas, corridors, and
elevators).
4. Check that the number of disconnections from the central station is less than 10% of
the number of monitor roaming times, and the RSSI value displayed on the monitor
is not less than -65 dBm.
5. If the RSSI value is ever less than -65 dBm when you walk about, stop at this position
and perform observation for 30 seconds. If the RSSI value is not less than -65 dBm in
66% of the time, the coverage requirements are met.

Test Item
Result (Pass, Fail or NA)
Execute the Ping command on the central monitoring
system for the monitor. Make sure that the average delay is
less than 250 milliseconds, and the packet loss rate is less
than 1%.
Hold the monitor to walk around in different AP scopes.
Observe the continuous waveform on the central monitoring
system after walking about in the entire expected coverage
area. The offline event time should be less than 10% of the
monitor roaming time.
At a position with worst coverage effect, the RSSI value
displayed on the screen is higher than -65 dBm.
NOTE
If the evaluated monitor has a fixed position and does not roam between
APs, the test of walking in the coverage area is not required. You only need
to place the monitor at the position with the worst signal where it may be
installed, and then confirm the RSSI and ping effect.
