WARNING
• Never perform digging or scooping operation with the machine articulated. There is a danger that
the machine may tip over.
• If the ECSS switch is turned ON during travel or with the work equipment raised, the machine starts
moving instantly. Take care.
• If the machine is operated with the ECSS switch ON, the work equipment may starts moving at the
moment when the ECSS is actuated. Take care.
NOTICE
If the tiers slip, the tire life will be reduced, so operate the machine avoiding tier slippage.
LOAD STOCK PILES AND BLASTED ROCKS
When loading stock piles or blasted rocks, the machine is driven forward as shown below to scoop them. In this
case, pay attention to the following points in order to prevent cuts on the tires caused by tire slipping.
• Level the job site constantly and remove any fallen rocks.
• 1st or 2nd gear speed is recommended for scooping stock piles and 1st gear speed for blasted rocks.
1.
When lowering the bucket while driving the machine for-
ward, stop the bucket once at height (A), a position ap-
proximately 30 cm from the ground, then lower it further
slowly.
If the bucket hits the ground, the front tires come off the
ground, the tires will slip.
2.
Shift down in front of the piled soil. As soon as completing
the shift down, depress the accelerator pedal to scoop the
soil.
Minimize the accelerator pedal depressing distance to
save fuel consumption. Depressing deeply results in just
increasing fuel consumption without increasing the volume of the load.
3.
When the target material is stock piles, set the cutting edge of bucket horizontal , and when it is blasted
rock, set the cutting edge slightly downward.
Be careful not to get blasted rock under the bucket. This will make the front tires come off the ground and
slip.
Keep the load in the center of the bucket and avoid putting the load to one side of the bucket.
REMARK
The kickdown switch is helpful for the shifting down. When the auto-kickdown is enabled, the gear is auto-
matically shifted down to 1st speed if the requirements, such as digging is taking place, are met.
