Connect the battery wires with care as shown in the figure (Ref Fig. J5). Tighten the battery binding
posts to torque of 1bs. Protect the battery terminals and battery cable terminals with a commercially
available protective coating.

Prolonged Storage
Battery charger and controller must be disconnected because failure of disconnection may
result in early discharge of battery. Other electronic equipment should also be disconnected.
During storage, battery requires watching and maintenance so as to avoid discharge.
Temperature value is proportional to chemical reaction velocity. Specific weight of electrolyte in vehicles
stored at 90°F (32°C) may have a loss up to 0.002 each day. If the fully charged battery has a specific
weight of 1.275 and the battery is stored and not utilized, part of its electricity may be lost after a time. Its
specific weight may be reduced to 1.240 within 20 days, and it should be recharged over again. If battery
is not charged for a long time, sulphate may appear on and inside its plates. This is a type of damage
beyond repair and will cause permanent damage to the battery. Battery should be charged in order to
avoid damage of battery. Hydrometer may be adopted for determine the relative density so as to find out
about the charge state of battery.
In winter, battery must be fully charged so as to minimize the possibility of freezing (Ref Fig. J6). Fully
charged battery will not be frozen when air temperature is over -75°F (-60°C). Although the chemical
reaction velocity is low at low temperature, the battery must be fully charged and disconnected to all
other circuits in order to prevent the battery from discharging. In case of portable charger, the charge
plug shall be unplugged from the receptacle in the car.
In case of charger in the car, the charging
harness shall be unplugged from the battery.
Battery must be cleaned thoroughly, all sediment shall
be neutralized and removed from the battery case so as to avoid automatic discharge, and the minimum
time interval for battery test or recharge should be 30 days.
