Electronic Speed Control (Non-PDS)
Read section A and B completely prior to operation or repair of golf car
I-13
38
3 long 8 short
Velocity sensor error
Check for looseness of wire connection of
the velocity sensor, verify that it’s OK, and
then restore the towing switch
39
3 long 9 short
Excessively high velocity
readings
Check for correctness of velocity sensor
signals, check for the modification of motor
and controller program, verify that it’s OK,
and then restore the towing switch
42
4 long 2 short
Armature current > 200A,
however, velocity< 1MPH
Check for excessively low battery voltage,
check for looseness of wire connection of the
velocity sensor, check for any abnormality of
the motor components such as the band type
brake, verify that it’s OK, and then restore the
towing switch
44
4 long 4 short
Excessively high
armature current
Reduce the armature current
46
4 long 6 short
Excessively high detected
temperature
Stop riding and allow the controller to cool
down
47
4 long 7 short
Excessively low detected
temperature
Restore the towing switch, have the vehicle
run for temperature rise
4A
4 long 10 short
Excessively low voltage
drop of diode.
Check the exterior circuit voltage, verify that
it’s OK, and then restore the towing switch
4B
4 long 11 short
Excessively high voltage
drop of diode.
Check the exterior circuit voltage, verify that
it’s OK, and then restore the towing switch

Raise the rear wheels of the vehicle and support the vehicle on jack stands (Refer to Lifting Procedure in
SAFETY of Section 'B'). Check the stability of vehicle prior to test. Remove the driver-side rocker panel,
remove the floor mat, and pull forward the metal cover so as to have the pedal exposed (Ref Fig. I15).
Remove the top cap, screw off the 4 screws that secure the plastic jacket and the pedal box (Ref Fig.
I16).
Set the parking brake system to position “parking”. Prior to resistance determination of DVOM, set the
ohmmeter to position 20K
Ω
, allow the positive probe to contact the black wire of accelerator, and the
negative probe to contact the white wire. Step on the accelerator pedal. The reading in the voltage
ohmmeter shall be within 0-0.1 ohm. When the accelerator reaches its end position, the reading shall
be 5 – 5.3 kohm (Ref Fig. I18). In case the reading fails to conform to standard, the accelerator must
be replaced.
