Wait time (not for controller type UA 141 E)
A wait time between switching off the cooling and switching on the defrost heater can be set for initiating the
defrost. This prevents the defrost heater from being operated at the same time as the evacuation of the
evaporator.
Drip time (not for controller type UA 141 E)
Switching on the cooling can be delayed after defrosting using an adjustable drip time. The drip time is not
started until the last defrost relay has dropped out. (only for UR 141 TE and UR 141 NE: Parameter
"Erw.AblaufHzg. = NO", see menu 2-2-1). This allows defrost drip water to drain before the cooling starts again.
Exception: The fans remain off for the UR 141 TE and UR 141 NE controllers until the drip time has elapsed. It
is not checked until then whether the switch-on conditions for the fan are met.
Defrost for two temperature zones
If two zones have been selected for controlling the cooling, each zone is also treated separately for defrosting.
However, the time for starting the defrost is the same for both zones.
2nd defrost stage (controller types UR 141 NE, UR 141 TE - not UA 401 E CC)
For example, the function of 2 defrost stages can be used
in the case of an evaporator with a collecting tray for the defrost drip water, if there is a risk that the drain of
the tray or the drain pipe will freeze up during only single-stage defrosting, or
in the case of an evaporator with two-stage defrost heater.
For the activation of a 2nd defrosting stage, the controller must be set to
single-zone operation
using the
Temperaturzonen
parameter (menu 6-1; for details, see chapter
Then the "2nd defrost stage" menu item becomes visible (menu 2-2-1). If a defrost is initiated, the 1st defrost
stage (relay

) is switched on first:
The defrost termination of the 1st defrost stage (tray) is determined using the defrost sensor R1.1.
The defrost termination of the 2nd defrost stage (evaporator) is determined using the defrost sensor R1.2.
If the defrost temperature (R1.1) rises above the specified setpoint of the 2nd defrost stage, relay
defrost 2
(terminals 53/54) is switched on. The defrost termination temperature set in zone 1 is used.
If the 2nd defrost stage is deactivated (parameter

both
defrost relays are used and both
switch simultaneously. If both defrost sensors are connected, the assignment of R1.1 to defrost relay 1 of the
drip tray (terminals 43/44) and R1.2 to defrost relay 2 (terminals 53/54) applies. The deactivation takes place
via the assigned defrost sensors or via the safe defrost time.
Extension of defrosting for the drip tray:
Using the parameter "Erw.AblaufHzg. = YES" (menu 2-2-1), the defrost heater of the drip tray already starts
during the wait time and also remains switched on until the end of the drip time. The 2nd defrost stage is
switched on after the end of the wait time and is switched off with the beginning of the drip time.
