Note
●
If you make a video-phone call to an emergency number (110, 119 or 118) from the FOMA terminal, the call is automatically changed to a voice call.
●
If you make a video-phone call to a phone that does not support video-phone calls, or if the called party’s phone supports video-phone calls but is
out of signal range or switched off, no connection can be established. If you called a phone that does not support video-phone calls and “Voice call
auto switch” is set to “ON”, the call is cut off by the called party before the video-phone connection is established and is then automatically redialed
as a voice call. However, this operation is not carried out if you dial the wrong number or if you call an ISDN synchronous 64K or PIAFS access point
or an ISDN video-phone that does not conform to the 3G-324M standard (as at December 2004). Note that call charge may apply in some cases.
●
The “32K” dialing speed allows you to use video-phones or other devices (PHS mobiles, etc.) that cannot communicate at “64K” due to network
conditions. If you make a video-phone call at “64K” and the called party is in a “32K” area or similar situation, the call is automatically redialed at 32K
bps. However, note that “32K” video-phone calls attract the same digital communication charges as “64K” video-phone calls.
●
If an attempted “64K” video-phone call fails to connect when “Voice call auto switch” is set to “ON”, it automatically switches to the “32K” dialing
speed. If the video-phone call still fails to connect, it switches to voice-call mode. The table below shows how “Voice call auto switch” and automatic
connection speed switching operate when a video-phone call fails to connect.
●
Once a video-phone is successfully connected, it is not re-dialed as a voice call.
●
You cannot receive i
-
mode mail or a Message Request/Free during a video-phone call. Received mail is held at the i
-
mode center and can be
retrieved using “Check new message” once the video-phone is completed.
●
You cannot receive SMS during a video-phone call.
●
If the “Recharge battery” battery low alarm appears on the display during a video-phone call, the other party sees the “Camera Off” message and
the call is disconnected roughly 20 seconds later. Even if you start charging the battery before the call is terminated, the “Camera Off” message
remains on the display.
●
Digital call charges still apply when the alternate image is displayed during a video-phone call.
