Created files
A file refers to one or many items of data stored together as a single item.
When you copy a file, the folder used to store the copied data is selected automatically based on the data type and
the file and folder names are automatically assigned as the file is saved onto the miniSD memory card. The files
stored in each folder are as shown below.

DCIM folder
This is a folder created automatically to store images when they are first exported to the miniSD memory card.
Each image is saved as a separate file.
The figure below shows how the created files and folders are named.
• Folder name: nnnNECDT (where nnn = 100-999)
• File name:
NEC_mmmm (where mmmm = 0001-9999)
■ SD_VIDEO folder
This is a folder created automatically to store movies and i-motions when they are first exported to the miniSD
memory card. Files are stored in the “PRL001” folder inside the SD_VIDEO folder. Each movie and i-motion is saved
as a separate file.
The figure below shows how the created files and folders are named.
• Folder name: PRLxxx (where xxx = 001-FFF (hexadecimal notation))
• File name: MOLxxx (where xxx = 001-FFF (hexadecimal notation))

When you use a PC to add folders in the DCIM folder, replace the “nnn” in the folder name with a 3-digit half-pitch number between 100 and 999.
The “NECDT” portion can be replaced by any half-pitch alphanumeric characters.

When you save a file, replace the “mmmm” in the file name with a 4-digit half-pitch number between 0001 and 9999. The “NEC” portion can be
replaced by any half-pitch alphanumeric characters.

● When you use a PC to add folders in the SD_VIDEO folder or save files, replace the “xxx” in the folder or file name with a hexadecimal number
between 001 and FFF using half-pitch numbers between 0 and 9 and half-pitch characters between A and F. Leave “PRL” in the folder name and
“MOL” in the file name unchanged.
● The FOMA terminal will only play movies that are MP4 files with the “3GP”, “SDV” or “MP4” file extension, or ASF files with the “ASF” extension.
