Functional differences between the UIM types
There are 2 types of the UIM: green and blue. The functions differ depending on the type as shown below:

The following settings are saved into the UIM. If the UIM is replaced, the settings of the new UIM become
effective.

WORLD WING
WORLD WING is the DoCoMo international roaming service that allows you to make and receive calls with
the same mobile phone number overseas by using the UIM (green) and a terminal compatible with WORLD
WING.
Note that the D903i terminal can be used only in a DoCoMo 3G roaming service area. In a GSM service area,
insert the UIM into a GSM-compatible terminal to use it.
You can use WORLD WING without subscription.

If you subscribed to the FOMA service before August 31, 2005 but have not subscribed to WORLD WING,
a separate subscription is required to use WORLD WING.

This service cannot be used with some billing plans.

If you lose the UIM (green) or have it stolen overseas, contact DoCoMo immediately to have the card
suspended. For contact information, refer to “General Inquiries” on the back of this manual. Note that any
call or communication charges incurred after the UIM is stolen will be borne by the customer.
