Test Procedure 7 – Lockout Cam Limit Switch, Continued:
4. Set the multimeter to 200 ohms. Place the red (+) probe of the multimeter on the common (COM) termi-
nal of the limit switch. Place the black (–) probe on the normally open (NO) terminal of the switch. Without
the lever pressed, the reading should be no continuity. Press the lever, and the reading should be con-
tinuity. If either reading is incorrect, replace the limit switch
(Figure 11-16, Page 11-18) .
5. Check to be sure the lobes on the cam are pressing the lockout cam limit switch when the Forward/
Reverse shifter is in the NEUTRAL position only. The limit switch should make an audible click as it is
pressed. If it does not, check for wear on the cam lobe. If the cam lobe will not activate the limit switch,
replace the cam.
