of detection
a. Tray adjacent switch is activated.
b. The tray 1 lower safety switch is turned ON.
Measures
a-1. Check the connector of the tray adjacent switch, and
replace the switch if necessary.
a-2. Replace the finisher controller PCB.
b-1. Check the connector of the tray 1 lower safety switch
(SW110), and replace the switch if necessary.
b-2. Check the connector of the tray 2 shift motor (M217), and
replace the motor if necessary.
b-3. Replace the finisher controller PCB.

Error in the swing guide safety switch
Description
of detection
The swing guide safety switch is turned ON during the
operation of tray 2.
Measures
1. Check the connectors of the swing guide safety switch
(front/rear) (SW102/SW104) and the staple position switch
(SW103).
2. Check the connectors of the swing guide solenoid (SL101)
and the tray 2 shift motor (M217).
3. Check the connection of the swing guide safety switch
(front/rear) (SW102/SW104) and the staple position switch
(SW103) harnesses.
4. Check the connection of the swing guide solenoid (SL101)
and the tray 2 shift motor (M217) harnesses.
5. Replace the swing guide safety switch (front/rear) (SW102/
SW104).
6. Replace the staple position switch (SW103).
7. Replace the swing guide solenoid (SL101).
8. Replace the tray 2 shift motor (M217).
9. Replace the finisher controller PCB.

Measures
1. Replace the upper cover switch (MSW3).
2. Replace the upper cover open/close sensor (S4).
3. Replace the master controller PCB.
