Click

on the Zoom flyout on the Navigation toolbar, and zoom in to the stairwell area at location 1.

Select Tutorial-Stair on the Tutorial tool palette.

On the Properties palette, under General, verify that the following properties are selected:

■

U-shaped for Shape

■

1/2 landing for Turn type

■

Counterclockwise for Horizontal Orientation

■

Up for Vertical Orientation

On the Properties palette, under Dimensions, verify that the following properties are selected:

■

3’9” for Width

■

12’6” for Height

■

Outside for Justify

Locate the outside edge of the stair at location 1.

Drag the cursor to the right, and select location 2, perpendicular to location 1.

Notice that the outside justification is what lets you size the stair to the stairwell width.

Press ENTER.

The U-shaped stair is sized and added to the drawing.
