Effect on the System
The port is blocked for some time.
Possible Causes
The port configured with ROOT Guard function receives a high-priority configuration
message.
Handling Procedure
Check where the high-level priority BPDU packet comes from, whether the port should be
configured with ROOT Guard function, whether there are network attacks, and whether
the configuration such as bridge priority is correct.

Check whether the bridge whether the port is located is a root bridge.

If yes, go to step 2.
l
If no, delete the ROOT protection configuration of the port.

Check whether the expected root bridge does not actually serve as the root due to
incorrect network bridge configuration, for example, incorrect network bridge priority.

If yes, modify the configuration.
l
If no, go to step 3.

Find out the source of the packets with higher priority and check whether network
attack exists. If yes, contact the network engineer.
