Chapter 2 Alarm
Possible Causes
1.
The IP address of the SNTP server is set incorrectly.
2.
The SNTP server fails.
3.
The network is faulty.
4.
The RCU board is faulty.
Handling Procedure
In the LMT system:
1.
Ensure that the SNTP Server IP Address on the SNTP management page is set
correctly. (Path:
Setup > System > Time
).
2.
Set SNTP Mode and SNTP Clock Synchronization Service, and then click Apply. If a
dialog box appears to indicate that the operation fails, ensure that the SNTP server is
operating properly.
3.
Check the communication quality between NE and SNTP server to ensure that the NE
can be accessed through the SNTP server.
4.
If the alarm persists after the preceding steps, replace the faulty RCU board.

Sub-code Description

Sub-code 1: RTC clock failure;

Sub-code 2: RTC clock not set.
Effect on the System
The system time is not accurate. When this alarm is reported, the system enters the soft
timing status and the system timescale precision decreases.
Possible Causes
1.
RTC clock chip failure;
2.
The RTC clock chip is not initialized.
Handling Procedure
1.
Set the clock parameters.
2.
Check if the required battery is available on the RCU board.
