Removing the Fuel Tank (continued)
IMPORTANT
To prevent damage to the fuel hoses, numerous cable ties are
used to secure the hoses to the machine components. Record the
location of all cable ties that are removed from the machine during
the fuel tank removal so that they can be properly replaced during
the tank installation.
8. Loosen the hose clamps and carefully disconnect the fuel supply and return
(items 17 and 2 in
) hoses from the fittings on the top of the fuel
sender.
9. Cover or plug the fuel hoses or fitting openings to prevent contamination
from entering the fuel system.

If the fuel sender is removed from the fuel tank, note the orientation
of the fittings for assembly purposes (
