More Menus/Setup/Alarm Definitions
There are 3 levels of alarm notification warning, alarm, and shutdown.
Alarms are user assignable outputs. Once an alarm is designated, it has
to be assigned to one of the notification levels.
•
Warning
– a warning is sent out when the event occurs, the button
turns yellow, and the alarm output is activated. Warnings are
displayed in the machine status button and are self-clearing. They
are used to report non-critical system information to the operator.
•
Alarm
– an alarm is sent out when the event occurs, the button turns
orange, and the Display Alarms screen appears with a list of alarms.
•
Individuals with supervisor rights can select the response of user
configurable alarms (disable, warning, or shutdown).
•
The operator must acknowledge all alarms by selecting “Clear
Alarms” from the display alarms screen (
Figure A–20
).
•
Shutdown
– the machine shuts down when the event occurs, the
button turns red. The machine does not run product and
X-ray
s are in
stand-by mode.
•
Shutdown and Stop Belt
– the machine shuts down when the event
occurs. The button on the alarm screen turns pink. The machine does
not run product, the belt is stopped and X-rays are in stand-by mode.
All alarms require the operator to acknowledge them by selecting clear
alarms from the display alarms screen. In most cases, the cause of the
alarm has to be taken care of before production resumes.
The alarm status display does not scroll through the list of active alarms;
it only shows the first one it received or the one with the highest priority.
EXAMPLE
: If a warning is currently being displayed and an alarm
occurs the machine status screen displays the alarm first. When the
operator presses the button, the display alarms panel is displayed. From
this screen, the operator can clear the warnings and Alarms. The panel
shows a more detailed description of each alarm.
Note.
User Configurable Alarms can only be assigned by an
operator with Supervisor or Maintenance rights.
