When the message at the bottom of the screen indicates the diodes
are calibrated, pass several uncontaminated products through the
hood (10 minimum).

Fine Tuning the Thresholds
If the EZx fails to detect or falsely rejects a good package during the
verify mode of the threshold learning process (see step 21 above in the
Manual Filter Setup example) select “
Change Filter Limits
”. Refer to
Table A–3
and verify you are not using a contaminant that is too small.
Remember actual sensitivity may vary depending on the characteristics
of the product, the aperture size, and the belt speed (sensitivity decreases
as the belt speed increases).
Try adjusting the threshold of the offending filter (indicated by the color
on the image) in 3% increments. If the contaminant is missed, increase
the threshold to increase sensitivity. Conversely, if the EZx is rejecting a
good package, decrease the threshold to reduce sensitivity.
