Located in the bottom of the machine, the
X-ray Generation Unit
is
small and compact. It produces
X-ray
s via an electrical current. If there
is no electricity connected to the machine,
X-ray
s cannot be produced.
As the
X-ray
tube is inefficient at producing
X-ray
s and most of the
energy is converted into heat, the tube is immersed in a tank of oil. The
high voltage to the
X-ray
generation unit is controlled by a KV power
source located inside the cabinet.
