Package Edge Padding
Package Detection
is used for packages the photo eye might not see in
entirety. As an example, a package of cookies might have a leading and
trailing flap. This appendix outlines the steps for setting up a product if
the product has a leading and trailing flap.

On this page, there are 3 values to configure:
•
Minimum Package Gap
- the minimum amount of space between
packages. This is often determined by the type of rejecter used. The
minimum gap is also used by the EZx system to have time to process
data on the package that just passed through the X-rays.
•
Leading Edge Pad
– this value is the distance in millimeters ahead of
the package that the EZx software will start scanning the package.
•
Trailing Edge Pad
– This value is the distance in millimeters at the
back of the package after the EZx software stops scanning the
package.
