5.5 Connecting the Fluid Bags
Non-sterile tasks:
The tap spikes (see Fig. 5-5 "Hanging fluid bags",

) are used to connect the
tube sections with the fluid bags (1) (optional safe lock connection).
WARNING!
The device is only intended for use with flexible fluid containers. Do not use glass
containers as they might break. Fluid cannot flow quickly enough due to the vac-
uum being generated inside of the bottle. Risk of implosion.
WARNING!
Select an irrigation fluid suitable for the subsequent medical procedure.
The fluid bags are to be attached at a height of h 0.7 to 1.0 m (Fig. 5-5 "Hanging
fluid bags") (pump inflow at center of fluid fill level in container).
1. The inflow tube can take irrigation fluid from two fluid bags

. Close both
clamps

at the branches of the inflow tube.
2. Grasp the tap spike

at the provided handle when connecting or discon-
necting.
3. Comply with sterile precautions when inserting the spike into a bag (optional
safe lock connection).
4. Open at least one clamp
(3)
at the irrigation tube.
5.6 Starting the Pump Function of the Device
If the tube cassette was not inserted, the function display depicts the message In-
sert tube set .
The device switches off automatically if the battery is used to operate the device
