Protocol-based-VLAN
Protocol-based-VLAN is to assign packets to VLAN IDs according to the frame encapsulation
formats and the protocol types of the Untagged (without Tag label) packets received by ports.
Protocol VLAN defines protocol template. A protocol template consists of the frame
encapsulation format and the protocol type. Multiple protocol templates can be configured on
one port. When the port enables protocol VLAN and a protocol template is configured on the
port, then protocol VLAN processes the Untagged packets received by the port as follows:
If the packet matches the protocol template, assign the source port of the packet to the
corresponding VLAN ID of the protocol template.
If the packet doesn’t match the protocol template, assign the packet to the default VLAN
ID of the port.
VLAN Division Priority
By default, the priorities of the four different VLANs from high to low are: MAC-address-based
VLAN, IP-subnet-based VLAN, protocol-based VLAN, and port-based VLAN. On one port, VLAN
divisions take effect according to their priorities, and only one VLAN division can take effect.
